As a Freight Operations Executive at Pragmatic Core, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods for our clients. You will be responsible for managing the logistics, documentation, and coordination of freight shipments, optimizing processes, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Outline:
- Days: 5 days a week (Mon-Fri)
- Probationary Period: 3 months
- Working Hours: UK – East Coast Standard Working Hours (Adaptive to Day Light Saving)
Requirements:
- Strong background in forwarding/logistics.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Dedicated to providing high levels of customer service.
- Team player.
- Robust time-management and organizational skills.
- Confident and articulate communicator.
- Excellent commercial acumen.
- Proficient in using MS Office.
- Knowledge of Logistics software and ERP systems would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Liaison with warehouses for accepting deliveries or arranging pelleting service for accurate load distribution.
- Booking port pick-up and warehouse deliveries for load FCL/LCL.
- Port-pickup and warehouse deliveries coordination with haulier.
- Resolving implications for containers on hold or examination by port/DEFRA authorities.
- Correspondence with customer and shipping line for payment/invoicing.
- Resolving issues with demurrage and other damage or charges.
- Sorting out Shipment Status reports and updating internal records as well as clients, regarding the latest events or inquiries.
- Client coordination and liaison for future import plans.
- Ensuring perfect and timely execution of all required data processing through Backoffice e.g. Internal data processing, submission of peach (Chief or IPAFF) application, Processing Custom clearances (CDS).
- Maintain Coordination with UK Port Authorities, Customs and Hauliers
- Client coordination for the delivery plan.
- Ensure the arrival FCL dates are accurate at all times and taken to the correct status.
- Ensure release instructions are sent to the shipping line at the time of manifesting the container and follow this through to the container being released.
- Ensure all shipments are cleared/delivered/released in a timely manner after all b/l’s and monies are received.
- Coordinate between the clients, customs clearance department, and trucking department to ensure receiving of containers/shipments at the right time, with the required documents.
- Ensure all customer inquiries are responded to in a timely manner, within one working day of receipt.
- Chase consignees regularly where we haven’t had a response to our NOA’s.
- Keep the overseas agent updated on any problems that occur and/or shipments not released within 7 days of arrival.
- Coordinate with the overseas agent as needed.
- Manage cross-border shipping processes, including customs clearance and documentation for international shipments.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions, such as weather-related delays or customs issues.
- Actively seek opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce errors.
- Maintain After-hour correspondence for fulfillment.
- Provide training and guidance to associates on best practices, related to freight operations.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for unforeseen events that may disrupt freight operations, ensuring minimal impact on clients.
- Maintain End-to-end shipment and clearance and delivery process.
- Achieve growth key performance indicators (KPIs) issued by HR .
- Compete weekly learning objectives.

To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a salary within the estimated salary range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for our NYC office and has not been adjusted for other locations.
